Belmont School Committee Ratifies Teachers' Contract After 19-Month Talks

BELMONT — Belmont Public Schools and the Belmont Education Association have ratified new contracts, closing out more than 19 months of negotiation, collaboration, compromise and mediation, the district announced. The agreement is the most consequential local development heading into the new school year.

The Belmont School Committee has approved ratified contracts with the Belmont Education Association, the teachers' union, following a bargaining process the district described as spanning more than 19 months. The district did not detail specific contract terms in its announcement.

Separately, Belmont Public Schools has opened registration for the 2026-2027 school year for families new to the district.
