Bedford Select Board Announces Summer Biergarten on Town Common
BEDFORD — The town's Select Board and Town Manager's Office announced a Summer Biergarten on the Town Common, while a stretch of the Narrow Gauge Rail Trail near the Billerica town line closed temporarily for a neighboring bike path project.
TOWN HALL
The Bedford Select Board and Town Manager's Office are inviting residents to the Town Common for the Bedford Summer Biergarten, an afternoon event featuring music, beer, and food, according to a News Flash posted Tuesday. Details on timing were not specified in the release, but the announcement frames it as a community gathering hosted by the town.
Separately, the town announced that a portion of the Narrow Gauge Rail Trail is temporarily closed at the Billerica town line. The closure stems from Billerica's two-year project to construct its Yankee Doodle Bike Path starting at the Bedford town line, per the town's announcement. Residents who use the trail for commuting or recreation should expect the closure to persist as that project moves forward.
The town is also continuing to seek public input on the future of 55 The Great Road, the town's former fire station property. A virtual public forum with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council and town staff is planned to discuss options for the site, and an in-person Public Forum on the same topic is scheduled for July 22, per the town's calendar.
