Bedford Releases Weekly Town Manager Report, Opens Citizen of the Year Nominations
BEDFORD — Bedford's Town Manager issued the latest weekly report Monday, while town officials continue gathering public input on the future of the former fire station property on The Great Road.

The Town Manager's Report for July 6, 2026 is now available to residents, according to the town's News Flash feed. The report is the regular weekly update summarizing town operations and administrative activity.
Separately, the town is continuing its planning process for 55 The Great Road, the site of the former fire station. The Metropolitan Area Planning Council is working with town staff on a virtual public forum to gather resident input on future uses for the property.
The town has also opened nominations for the 2026 Bedford Citizen of the Year award, inviting residents to submit nominees recognizing community contributions.

The Bedford Free Public Library's 2026 HEB Reads! Summer Reading Challenge remains underway for adults, teens and children, running from May 16 through July 31. Participants can register through the library's website or the Beanstack app to log reading minutes and earn prizes, with prize pick-up available beginning June 1.
The library has also posted updated seasonal event calendars for adults, tweens and teens, and kids for the summer 2026 season, along with a June/July children's calendar, available through the library's online events page.
