Ashland Declares Stage 1 Water Restriction

ASHLAND — Ashland is now under a Stage 1 water restriction, town officials announced, asking residents to limit water use as the community heads into the second half of August.

TOWN HALL

The town's News Flash alert system confirmed Ashland has entered a Stage 1 water restriction and is asking residents to cut back on water use. The announcement did not specify which outdoor watering days or hours are affected; residents can check the town's civic alerts page for enforcement details as they develop.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Ashland Public Library's calendar stays busy into midweek. On Tuesday, Aug. 18, the library hosts an in-person Cook Book Club session built around "Ice Cream," alongside a virtual live walking tour of Paris's Luxembourg Garden. The library's ongoing Teacher Tales series continues this week too, with a session featuring Ms. Corbin's kindergarten class on Tuesday following Monday's installment with Ms. Johnson's first grade class. Younger patrons have options as well: Clocktown Rockers, a program for ages 2 to 5 with a caregiver, is also scheduled for Tuesday.

COMING UP

Several town boards meet in the coming days: the Board of Health convenes via Zoom on Tuesday, Aug. 18, the same day the Library Board of Trustees meets in hybrid format. The Town Clerk holds ballot testing on Wednesday, Aug. 19, and the Upper Charles Trail Committee meets via Zoom on Thursday, Aug. 20. Later in the week, the Conservation Commission meets again Monday, Aug. 24, the Zoning Board of Appeals meets Tuesday, Aug. 25, and the Planning Board meets Thursday, Aug. 27.
