Appointing Board picks Krishna Kondo for Finance Committee seat

WAYLAND — July 14, 2026 — Wayland's Finance Committee Appointing Board unanimously appoints Krishna Kondo to a three-year term. Chair Cherry C. Karlson, Select Board Chair Carol B. Martin, and Town Moderator Miranda S. Jones voted 3-0 Tuesday to seat Kondo, a three-year Wayland resident with a technology background and a Babson MBA, through June 30, 2029. Kondo told the board that a Wayland Post notice of five committee vacancies and a conversation with School Committee member Prashant Shukla drew him in, and said committee members must "stick to" collective decisions publicly even when they disagree privately. Martin flagged that Wayland faces a possible operating override "for the third year in a row." The board also approved amended June 25 minutes and set candidate meeting dates of August 20 and August 27 to discuss recruitment for an FY28 vacancy and Karlson's expiring term.
