Weston's Select Board and School Committee filled seats on the town's Recreation Master Plan Steering Committee this week, part of ongoing town oversight of recreation planning.

TOWN -- Meeting jointly on Tuesday, July 28, the Select Board and School Committee voted by roll call to reappoint Alex Cobb to the Recreation Master Plan Steering Committee for a term expiring June 30, 2029. The boards also filled the committee's other open seat, which had drawn two candidates, Adam King and Peter Hill; both bodies voted to appoint Adam King. Separately, the boards reappointed Jim Palando to the town's Permanent Building Committee, also through a term expiring June 30, 2029; officials noted during the meeting that the Permanent Building Committee has an additional vacancy with no applicant yet on file. The Weston Recreation Department's online calendar this week lists City Hall Selfie Day on Tuesday, Aug. 11, Lunchtime Open Office Hours with the Town Manager on Thursday, Aug. 13, and Colonial Crafts for Kids on Tuesday, Aug. 18, none of which are athletic programs.
