Tyngsborough Sewer Commission Approves Housing Authority Connection, Plans Rate Review

Tyngsborough Sewer Commission unanimously approved a housing authority sewer connection and scheduled a user fee work session for January 22. The commission voted at its January 8 meeting to allow the Tyngsborough Housing Authority to proceed with sewer connection design for Bentley Terrace, with construction at least a year away and a related $13 million Charles George project still without construction funding. Sewer Administrator Kathy Cayer warned commissioners that current user fee rates expire June 30, 2026, and that a work session followed by a public hearing must be completed before any new rates can take effect July 1.

The commission also heard estimated sewage flow figures of approximately 287 gallons per day from cannabis facility Bada Bloom, Incorporated at 40 Old Ting Road, just under the 330-gallon-per-day single-unit allotment, with no formal vote taken. A residential connection request at 46 Middlesex Road was tabled pending a staff-compiled waiting list, after the applicant failed to respond to a 2024 certified letter despite having been approved for connection in 2020.
