Townsend Band Closes Out Summer Concert Series

TOWNSEND — Townsend's outdoor concert season wrapped up Thursday evening, Aug. 20, with the Townsend Community Band's final performance of the summer, capping months of free Thursday-night shows for residents around town.

TOWN HALL The town is continuing to remind voters that the Massachusetts state primary falls on Tuesday, Sept. 1, the first of three elections on Townsend's fall calendar, followed by a town special election Oct. 6 and the state general election Nov. 3. Nomination papers for the town special election have already been made available at Town Hall, according to the town's News Flash postings.

COMMUNITY & ARTS The Townsend Community Band played its last concert of the season Aug. 20, closing out the town's summer outdoor performance series. The Townsend Public Library, meanwhile, announced it will close Friday, Aug. 28, for its regular end-of-summer cleaning day, with normal hours resuming afterward.
