Town Sets September 13 Date for Holliston Farms Day

HOLLISTON — The town has set a date for its annual Farms Day celebration, while the Holliston Public Schools superintendent's office issued a series of updates as summer administrative business continues.

TOWN HALL

The town announced via its official News Flash feed that Holliston Farms Day will be held on September 13. Details on programming and location were not included in the announcement, but the date marks one of the town's signature fall community events.

Elsewhere, the town's homepage continues to list its Summertime Street Paving Projects, which began June 29, along with the newly released 2025 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report and the Holliston Climate Action Plan, both now available to residents. Habitat for Humanity is also accepting applications for an affordable home in Holliston, according to the town's News Flash listings.

Several town boards have meetings on the calendar this week, including the Select Board, the Envisioning Future Holliston committee, the Sewer Commission, the Board of Health, the Historical Commission, and the Zoning Board of Appeals.

SCHOOLS

Holliston Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Susan Kustka posted an "Opening Letter" dated July 1 as part of the district's ongoing community communications. The district's news feed also shows continued work on an Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations search, with the district requesting finalist feedback from the community, alongside a previously circulated "Holliston Preliminary Financial Picture and Educator Compensation Proposal Analysis."

The district's summer newsletter from the Superintendent's Corner remains posted for families, part of a steady cadence of updates as the district heads toward the new school year.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Holliston Public Library highlighted several ongoing offerings, including its Free Virtual Events series and Online Author Talks, with an upcoming talk described as "Humor, Heart, and Reflective Rural Stories with Michael Perry" presented in partnership with the Library Speakers Consortium. The library also noted a Board of Trustees vote on July 2, 2025, updating its policy on reserved materials holds.

Downtown, the town's calendar shows the Holliston Farmers Market and the Concerts in the Park series continuing this month, with performances from S'Bourbon 4 and Matt York on consecutive Tuesdays.

The Holliston Farmers Market and Concerts in the Park series continue Tuesday, July 14, featuring S'Bourbon 4, with another market and concert by Matt York on Tuesday, July 21. Town board meetings this week include the Select Board on Monday, July 13; Envisioning Future Holliston, the Sewer Commission, and the Board of Health on Tuesday, July 14; and the Historical Commission on Wednesday, July 15. The Zoning Board of Appeals meets Wednesday, July 22, and the Board of Health meets again Tuesday, July 28. Holliston Farms Day is scheduled for Sunday, September 13.
