Tewksbury Conservation Commission continues Main Street compliance review after unapproved construction deviations surface. The commission voted at its February 18 meeting to continue to March 4 a certificate of compliance request for 2512 Main Street, filed on behalf of Consigian Enterprises under DEP File 305-1111, after applicant representative Troy Cerns of Civil Design acknowledged two deviations from the approved order of conditions: a rear walkway expanded from the approved four feet to five and a half feet, and an approximately 633-square-foot concrete patio added without commission approval. Alan Kazanjian of Kazanjian Enterprises said the walkway was widened for worker safety near rear AC units, and the patio was built as a customer smoking area.

Commission members said they found it hard to believe a former conservation administrator had tacitly approved the changes, noting the staffer lacked authority to authorize deviations. Because the original order of conditions has expired, any wetland replication remedy would now require a new Notice of Intent. In separate votes, the commission issued a negative determination of applicability for the town DPW's annual resurfacing of seven streets in wetland buffer zones and ratified an emergency certification for a frozen water-line repair at 161 John Street.
