Pepperell Recreation Commission prioritizes community center painting and gazebo repairs as capital wishlist outpaces its budget. With just $1,885.74 left in its maintenance account as of mid-January against a $5,150 annual line item, member Leanne Hanson and colleagues said big-ticket items like floor refinishing and new furniture are out of reach without town capital funding. The Community Preservation Committee deadlocked 3-3 on funding a commission member's Eagle Scout project, and has twice told the commission it needs a town field master plan before backing further requests.

Members floated a roughly $500,000 one-year, self-funded townwide capital article, costing about $5 a month per household, that could pay for the painting and gazebo work. "We need more fields," Hanson said, backing fellow member Mike's push for expanded field space. Warrant articles for spring town meeting are due March 20.
