Sudbury Youth Soccer opens fall registration and touts summer camp enrollment as two Lincoln-Sudbury ninth-graders compete at a national track meet.

SUDBURY -- Local sports activity for the week of June 22–28, 2026 centered on youth soccer registration deadlines and a notable achievement by two high-school athletes on the national stage.

YOUTH LEAGUES

Sudbury Youth Soccer Association has opened fall 2026 registration for players in grades Pre-K through 2nd grade, with an August 1 deadline. Registration for grades 3–8 closed May 25; players who missed that deadline may still register and will be placed if space allows. SYSA is also promoting July and August summer camp enrollment and has announced a Youth Soccer Night at Boston Legacy FC on August 31. HIGH SCHOOL

According to remarks at the June 23 Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School Committee meeting, two ninth-grade athletes competed at a national track meet held in Pennsylvania in the days prior, accompanied by coach Mel Gonzalez. The Teachers Association representative noted that several spring athletic teams advanced deep into postseason tournament play, providing a late-year boost to school spirit.

COMMUNITY

At the same school committee meeting, it was reported that two Lincoln-Sudbury METCO students were selected from among 33 METCO districts statewide to attend the Island School in the Bahamas for a six-week program focused on marine biology, scuba certification, and sustainable living. The competitive application process involved multiple essays and is unrelated to athletics, though the achievement reflects the broader extracurricular reach of LS students.
