Sudbury Schedules July 2 Mosquito Spraying and Opens Senior Tax Relief Applications
The East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project has announced truck-mounted aerosol spraying in parts of Sudbury on Thursday, July 2, with operations running between sunset and 11:30 p.m. — the most time-sensitive item for residents heading into the holiday week.
TOWN HALL
Mosquito control crews will be out next Thursday evening, July 2, treating targeted areas of Sudbury with a truck-mounted aerosol sprayer. The East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project conducts the work after sunset and wraps up by 11:30 p.m. Residents who want to limit exposure should close windows and stay indoors during spraying hours; details on affected streets are posted at sudbury.ma.us/health.
Also from the Assessor's Office: the town has opened applications for the FY 2027 Means-Tested Senior Exemption Program, which provides property tax relief to qualifying low- and moderate-income older adults. Income limits are tied to the Massachusetts Circuit Breaker state income tax credit. Sudbury seniors can apply by mail to the Assessor's Office at 278 Old Sudbury Road or through the town website at sudbury.ma.us/assessors.
Separately, the town's Housing Trust posted a summary of a recent Housing Roundtable at which Sheila Cusolito, Executive Director of the Sudbury Housing Authority, gave an overview of the authority's ownership and management of rental properties for lower-income residents. The roundtable notes are available at sudbury.ma.us/housingtrust.
Finally, a clarification on the Catch Connect shuttle: the town confirmed the curb-to-curb shared-ride service — operating Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. — is expected to remain fare-free through June 2027, though the formal fare-free commitment is confirmed only through the end of June 2026. Riders should watch for updates at sudbury.ma.us/transportation.
There is also an upcoming Liberty Ledge/Sewataro public input session posted by the town. Residents interested in the future of that recreation area should check sudbury.ma.us/sewataroll for dates and details.
