Stoneham Recycling Committee Surveys Residents Ahead Of New Trash Contract

STONEHAM — Stoneham's Trash & Recycling Committee is asking residents to fill out a brief survey on their hauling needs as the town's contract with Casella is set to expire next year, with the committee's input going toward the Town Administrator's search for a new agreement.

TOWN HALL

The Trash & Recycling Committee's survey is meant to help the Town Administrator's office understand what residents want as officials begin seeking a replacement for the current Casella contract, which runs out next year.

Separately, riders on the Stoneham Shuttle now book their trips through a new mobile app. As of August 1, all shuttle rides must be requested through the Ride Circuit app rather than the previous Circuit Transit Stoneham app. The town also reminds residents that Stevens Street Recycling Center hours posted on the town website remain in effect through November 30.

Downtown Stoneham construction, which began the week of July 6, continues, according to the town's website. And Walk Massachusetts and the Stoneham Transportation Advisory Committee's Bike Pedestrian Subcommittee are inviting residents to a community "walk audit" on August 27, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., to evaluate how safe and accessible the town's streets and public spaces are.
