Sherborn School Committee Unanimously Approves $7.84 Million FY27 Budget

SHERBORN — March 10, 2026 — Sherborn School Committee votes 5-0 to approve a $7,842,291 operating budget for fiscal year 2027. Business Manager Dawn Vittori presented the final version of the budget, reflecting a 1.43 percent increase in in-district spending, driven primarily by contractual salary reserves and the addition of one district-wide curriculum coordinator. Per-pupil budgeted expenditure drops to $18,331 — a 4.8 percent decrease — as enrollment is projected to grow from 379 to 403 students at Pine Hill Elementary, fueled by the largest incoming kindergarten class in 10 years. The committee also voted 5-0 on its consent agenda, approving February minutes with a name correction and opting out of the Massachusetts school choice program. Separately, the committee learned that the Pine Hill water tank replacement project, initially budgeted at $300,000, now carries a design-phase estimate of $500,000, with bids expected within two weeks and a re-vote likely at a joint March 31 meeting.
