School Committee · Meeting of October 8, 2026

HOLLISTON — The Holliston School Committee approved Superintendent Dr. Carter's 2026-27 goals and reviewed 2026 MCAS results showing strong overall performance but widening gaps for English language learners. Robert Adams Middle School placed in the 91st percentile statewide, with Principal Karen Manning crediting protected planning time and strong intervention structures.

The district's director of teaching and learning, identified only as Karen, said English learner scores declined in ELA, math and science, and announced a free Harvard University graduate-student program review to address it, calling the dip "not a collapse, but something worth noting." The committee also amended Policy JNDC to address AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini, and appointed Francis Ogura, Sarah Fitzgerald and Tracey Floeckher to a new paraprofessional bargaining subcommittee. All votes passed unanimously.
