Rail Trail Closes at Bedford-Billerica Line for Bike Path Project

BEDFORD — A two-year construction project by the town of Billerica has temporarily closed a stretch of the Narrow Gauge Rail Trail at the Bedford town line, while Bedford's Select Board and Town Manager's Office are inviting residents to the Town Common for the Bedford Summer Biergarten.

TOWN HALL

The Narrow Gauge Rail Trail is temporarily closed at the Billerica town line as Billerica undertakes a two-year project to build its Yankee Doodle Bike Path starting from that boundary, according to the town's website. Trail users who typically cross into Billerica from Bedford should expect the closure to remain in place for the duration of the construction.

The Bedford Select Board and Town Manager's Office are inviting the community to the Town Common for the Bedford Summer Biergarten, an afternoon of music, beer and food, the town announced.

The town's virtual public forum on the future use of 55 The Great Road, the former fire station, previously reported by Townbrief Bedford, is set for Wednesday alongside meetings of two town advisory committees.
