SOMERVILLE — The Somerville Planning Board voted 5-0 to let a Broadway Dunkin' Donuts extend its hours to 10:30 p.m., a compromise after the business's representative, Nicole Sullivan, scaled back an original request for 24-hour operation. Vice Chair Amelia Aboff chaired in the absence of Chair Michael A. Capuano and member Michael McNeley.
Neighbors Dale and Claudio Fidelli testified against the extension, citing drinking, trash and light spilling into their homes; Fidelli said "we're all asleep at 9 o'clock." The board added a voluntary condition requiring Sullivan's team to return in six months with an update on relations with neighbors. Members Jahan Habib, Lynn Richards, Luc Schuster and Coralie Cooper also spent more than two hours reviewing five pending zoning amendments on accessory dwelling units, parking maximums and entrance requirements, with public comment open through October 30.
