Planning Board, Conservation Commission Hold Virtual Meetings This Week
ASHBY — Ashby's municipal calendar stayed busy this week with the Planning Board and Conservation Commission both holding virtual meetings, while the Town Clerk's office posted adjusted hours and the transfer station reminded residents of its annual permit deadline.

The Planning Board held a virtual meeting on July 8 at 7 p.m., with materials available on the Planning Board's page on the town website. The Conservation Commission met virtually the evening before, on July 7 at 7:30 p.m., following its own posted agenda. Both meetings were conducted over Zoom with dial-in and video options provided for residents who wished to participate remotely.
The Town Clerk's office also posted its hours for the week of July 6-9, giving residents guidance on when to reach staff for licensing, vital records, and other clerk services during the holiday week.
Separately, the town has flagged that transfer station permits for the current cycle needed to be purchased by July 1 to ensure continued access; the annual permit costs $50. The Highway Department is also continuing to field pothole reports through the town's main line, a seasonal reminder as summer road conditions are assessed.
The town is also seeking a part-time seasonal Cemetery Worker to help maintain Ashby's three town cemeteries. Interested residents are asked to send their name, contact information, and relevant experience to Barbara Thorpe in the Town Administrator's office.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Ashby Free Public Library, at 812 Main Street, continues its regular hours this week: Tuesday and Wednesday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday 1 to 8 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the library closed Sunday, Monday, and Friday. The library's oral history project remains available for residents to view online, offering recorded local history films through the library's website.
