Pepperell plant committee votes down parade walking group

Pepperell's Invasive and Native Plant Advisory Committee voted 4-0 against organizing a parade walking group, choosing instead to focus on a Saturday pollinator garden planting. The committee's chair reported that a children's storytelling area along the library's woodland trail was "heavily vandalized last week," with an arbor pulled down, clay pots shattered and several story-panel signs destroyed; police have identified those responsible. Committee member Melissa said of the parade idea, "I have no personal attachment to the parade.

I'd come if people wanted to go, but." The committee is also coordinating a woodland-themed library art show, June 8-14, with roughly seven pieces committed so far, and finalized its 250th anniversary garden across from CNS Pizza this week.
