Pepperell Council on Aging raises leftover meal price to $3 as roof project nears completion. The board voted unanimously to bump the leftover-meal price from $2 to $3, following an earlier $1 increase that set the standard meal at $5. The senior center's roof replacement, the only bid received among 19 companies contacted, came in at $65,900, funded through $65,000 in state earmarks and $13,000 from a building gift account.

The board also approved a $750 CRF Inc. contract to service the center's movable walls and heard that a new LRTA-managed vehicle is replacing an aging, hard-to-service 2014 MV1. "Everybody who comes gets to eat," the director said of the meal program. The Friends of Pepperell Seniors reported a $3,245 yard sale and a sold-out May 28 dinner event.
