Mosquito Spraying Planned For Sudbury Next Week

SUDBURY — More mosquito spraying is planned for Sudbury next week, according to Sudbury Patch, as town officials continue efforts to control the local mosquito population. The Sudbury School Committee is set to meet Monday, and the Sudbury Senior Center has rolled out a run of late-summer programs for older residents.

SCHOOLS

The Sudbury School Committee will meet remotely Monday, Aug. 17, from 7 to 10 p.m., according to a notice and agenda posted by Sudbury Public Schools. The meeting comes as the district finalizes preparations for the new school year, with staff professional development scheduled to begin Aug. 31 and the first day of classes for grades 1 through 8 set for Sept. 2.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Sudbury Cultural Council is looking for new members, according to a notice posted this month on the Sudbury Public Schools community announcements page. The council did not specify the number of openings or an application deadline beyond the posted notice.

Sudbury Senior Center has added a run of intergenerational summer programming, including a Celebrity Bingo session with Sudbury Fire Chief Choate set for Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 2 to 3 p.m. Residents can register by calling the Senior Center at (978) 443-3055.
