Littleton ZBA approves 359 King Street two-family conversion, 4-0
Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of August 20, 2026
Littleton Zoning Board of Appeals approves King Street two-family conversion, 4-0. The board granted a special permit under bylaw section 173-68 letting 359 King Street LLC convert an existing single-family home, built in 1853, into a two-family dwelling, with general contractor Joe Cataldo representing owner Mr. Long.
Chair Sherrill Gould and Vice Chair Cheryl Cowley Hollinger both recused for financial interest, leaving members Rod Stewart, John Sewell and David Outman plus alternate Robert Mills to close the hearing 4-0 and approve the permit 4-0. Discussion afterward turned contentious over the difference between a barred "duplex" and a permitted "two-family" conversion, with Cowley Hollinger noting "the zoning bylaw in Littleton does not permit duplexes." The board also cleared a nine-month backlog by approving December 11 minutes on an unresolved Habitat for Humanity variance case.
