Lincoln-Sudbury committee approves Gilson as finance director, adopts 2026-27 calendar

SUDBURY — March 10, 2026 — Lincoln-Sudbury committee installs new finance director and standardizes half days on 5-1 calendar vote. The LS Regional School Committee unanimously approved Superintendent Andrew Stevens' recommendation of Dr. Susan Gilson, currently director of finance and operations at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional Schools, as the district's next finance and operations director, with a July 1 start pending contract negotiations. The committee then approved the 2026-27 calendar 5-1, moving all half days to a noon dismissal, expanding half days from two to as many as six, and converting a full Thanksgiving-week PD day into two early dismissals via an MOA with the teachers association. John J. Ryan, Jr. pushed back on framing the additions as lost instruction, calling it "roughly 1 percent of the entire school year." A planned vote on regional agreement amendments was deferred after DESE staff returned fresh comments; the committee scheduled a special meeting for 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 17.
