LS School Committee accepts $25,000 booster gift, advances handbook and electric bus study

SUDBURY — June 23, 2026 — Lincoln-Sudbury committee closes school year with handbook overhaul and electric bus study. Vice-Chair Catherine Bitter presided as the six-member committee unanimously accepted a $25,000 LS Boosters donation for stadium PA repairs, approved Dr. Sana Asif of Post Road Pediatrics as school physician, and passed Policy BHE on electronic messaging on third reading. Interim Finance Director Susan Botan, in her final report, announced LS has been invited into a Massachusetts Clean Energy Center school-bus advisory program worth roughly $50,000 in services at no cost. Superintendent-Principal Andrew Stevens reported the Sherman Bridge Road reconstruction has slipped from summer to October-December, prompting member John Ryan to warn that "if you're going to want to have influence, you're going to have to do it early" before contractor bids lock in 7 a.m. start times. The committee reached consensus on the reorganized Student Rights and Responsibilities handbook, with attendance and academic-integrity sections to return before school opens.
