Lincoln Opens 2026-2028 Transfer Station Sticker Applications
LINCOLN — The Town of Lincoln has opened online applications for new 2026-2028 Transfer Station Stickers, giving residents until late summer to secure the required windshield decal, while the Lincoln Public Library continues to manage construction-related access disruptions near Library Lane.
TOWN HALL
The Town of Lincoln announced that 2026-2028 Transfer Station Stickers are now available for application online. Residents must complete the application by August 31, 2026, after which stickers will be mailed for affixing to the inside driver's side lower left corner of the windshield.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Lincoln Public Library is asking patrons to plan for extra travel time due to ongoing construction affecting access to Library Lane and parking at the library, directing residents to lincolnbigdig.com for updates.
The library's Board of Trustees is seeking applicants for an open trustee position, with a stated preference for someone with a particular interest area, according to the library's news page. Separately, the library is honoring outgoing trustee Peter Sugar as he steps down from the board, and has launched its second annual Seed Library. The library also added four new wifi hotspots to its lending collection and is accepting submissions for the Virginia Rundell Award.
On the calendar this week, the library hosts a Super Story Time on July 7 described as "your favorite storytime, but bigger," a Knitting & Stitching Group on July 8, and had planned a Bad Art Celebration for July 8 that has since been canceled, though organizers say winners will still be announced with participants keeping their entries.
In a lighter historical note, the library highlighted that local band They Might Be Giants got its start at Lincoln-Sudbury High School in 1982, pointing to a recent Boston.com interview in which band member John Flansburgh discussed the library's role, calling it a place that "really performed a very practical cultural function for us."
