Library closes Main Street entrance for nine days amid corridor project

HOPKINTON — The Hopkinton Public Library will shut its Main Street entrance from Wednesday, July 15, through Saturday, July 25, because of ongoing work on the town's Main Street Corridor Project, with patrons directed to use the Church Street entrance instead.

The library said in a notice posted to its website that "the Main St. entrance to the library will be unavailable from Wednesday July 15th through Saturday July 25th, due to work being done on the Main St. Corridor Project," and apologized for any inconvenience. Patrons can find updates on the town's project website. The library pointed to its Church Street entrance as the alternative access point for the duration of the closure.

Separately, the library's Betty Strong Room hosts a Coffee House event, "Songs of Tradition, Sung Anew," on Friday, July 18, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

COMING UP

The library has a run of programming over the next several days: Babytime on Friday, July 17, from 9:15 to 10 a.m., followed by Little Explorers from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., both in the Children's Programming Room. Drop-in Family Activities run Saturday, July 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., also in the Children's Programming Room. On Monday, July 20, the library holds a YA CreatorSpace Crafternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. in the CreatorSpace classroom, followed by a "250th: DIY Declarations" program from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Betty Strong Room, tied to the nation's semiquincentennial.
