Holliston Street Paving Launches Sunday; Trash and Library Hours Set for July 4 Weekend
Town officials are getting residents ready for the Fourth of July holiday weekend with a cluster of practical notices: street paving begins Sunday, trash pickup runs on its normal Friday schedule on July 3, and the public library will be dark on both July 3 and July 4.
TOWN HALL
Three housekeeping items from the town are worth noting as the holiday approaches. Summertime street paving projects are set to begin Sunday, June 29, so drivers should expect lane restrictions or detours on affected roads in the coming days. The town has not yet published a full list of targeted streets, so residents are advised to check the town website at townofholliston.us for updates.
On trash and recycling: there will be no delay to the Friday, July 3 collection. Households on a Friday pickup schedule should put their bins out as usual.
The town's 2025 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report is also now available for residents to review, and the Holliston Climate Action Plan has been posted online. Separately, Habitat for Humanity is accepting applications for an affordable home in Holliston; interested residents can find details through the town's website.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
Holliston Public Library will be closed Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. The library returns to regular hours the following week. In the meantime, digital borrowing through Libby, Hoopla, and Kanopy remains available around the clock for cardholders.
