Board of Health · Meeting of October 14, 2026
Littleton's Board of Health aired concerns about a proposed Chapter 40U fine system heading to the town's Oct. 27 Special Town Meeting. Member Dr. Matt Wayson said "this got this far in this town government without talking to the Board of Health," while Chair Kevin Baker compared the enforcement tool to "keeping a nuke in the basement." Clerk Elizabeth Donegan cited research showing Boston left $4.9 million in fines uncollected from 48,000 citations between 2006 and 2009 and warned the policy could disproportionately affect older adults and people with disabilities.
The board took no formal position on the article. Separately, members voted 4-0 to let Health Director Kelli Calo continue hiring a new office coordinator, and Kevin Davis agreed to raise noise-study concerns at a Zoning Board of Appeals hearing on a proposed LNG facility.
