**Water Conservation Appeal**

The town issued a fresh conservation appeal Monday, asking residents to voluntarily cut back on outdoor water use beyond what the existing Level 1 restriction already requires. Under that restriction, lawn watering is permitted just one day per week. The call comes as regional forecasters warn of dangerous heat building through this week, which will likely push water demand higher.

Separately, the town's survey on the MCI Concord Master Plan Draft Plans closes July 1 — residents have two days left to weigh in on the future of the former correctional facility site. The Lowell Regional Transit Authority is also scheduled to present at the next Transportation Advisory Committee meeting on July 7, where officials will discuss a potential expansion of LRTA service to Concord and take public feedback.

Road work continues this week on Thoreau Court, Thoreau Street, Sudbury Road, Everett Street, Stow Street, and Devens Street through July 3. A detour plan tied to the Sudbury Road and Thoreau Street intersection project, which began June 25, remains in effect.

The Concord Free Public Library is accepting applications for its 2027 Writer-in-Residence Program through July 15. The residency, which runs January through June 2027, is designed to carry forward Concord's literary heritage by supporting diverse voices and literary arts programming.
