SUDBURY — The Liberty Ledge-Sewataro Advisory Committee worked through nine of 14 draft recommendations for the town-owned camp property without voting on any of them. Staff member James Goody presented results from a 710-response survey showing summer camp operations as residents' top priority, with a weighted score of 1,992 versus 1,775 for open space. Member Kay Bell said the committee had read "hundreds" of public emails and would "publicly acknowledge" confusion some residents expressed about the survey.
Member Deb Deneen cautioned the committee against interpreting a KP Law legal opinion itself, saying "we as a committee should not be the ones to take and reword and interpret the legalese." Members softened a recommendation to convert the house at 213 Haynes Road to affordable housing from "pursue" to "explore," and noted that only two of the eight property safety items flagged in a 2019 health department memo appeared to have been resolved. The committee scheduled further discussion for September 24 and a final vote for October 1.
