GROTON — The Groton Sustainability Commission prepared a March 5 public session on the specialized stretch energy code without acting on the code itself. Members approved the Jan. 20 notes as amended and adjourned by unanimous roll call. They reviewed a flyer and a draft letter to the editor, and split up postings at the library, Town Hall, the schools and local businesses.
A member said Warwick had won more than $735,000 in green community grants, and members said Groton awaits word on a $250,000 school energy grant projected to save $50,000 a year. On Affordable Housing Trust slides, a member argued adoption might not produce affordable units but "we'll be no worse off than we are now." Another member agreed to seek a conversation with Omni Properties about the Deluxe project.
