Carlisle Sets November 16 Date for Special Town Meeting

DATELINE — CARLISLE

Carlisle officials confirmed this week that a Special Town Meeting will convene Nov. 16 in the Corey Auditorium and cafeteria at Carlisle Public School. The town also disclosed that the state has placed Carlisle under a Level 3 Critical Drought Advisory, and the Community Preservation Committee's FY27 grant cycle remains open ahead of that same November vote.

TOWN HALL

The Nov. 16 Special Town Meeting is now officially on the calendar, according to a Town Hall announcement; further details on the warrant and articles are expected as the date approaches. The meeting is expected to include a vote on Community Preservation Committee grant requests submitted during the FY27 cycle, which closes Aug. 14.

Separately, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs has designated the Northeast Region, which includes Carlisle, in Level 3 – Critical Drought status, the Board of Health announced. The July edition of the town's municipal newsletter is also now available, with monthly town and community updates.

SCHOOLS

Carlisle Public Schools is running summer learning resources through early August, with reading lists and math practice tools posted for all grade levels. The Main Office is keeping summer hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Aug. 7, with the School Street lot closed to parking on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the playground limited to student use during that window. The School Committee's next meeting is set for Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 10 a.m.

COMING UP

The Department of Public Works Renovation Building Committee holds a site visit Monday, July 27. The Community Preservation Committee and the Finance Committee both meet in hybrid session Monday, July 27, and the Select Board meets Tuesday, July 28.
