Carlisle Limits Transfer Station Parking To 15 Minutes

CARLISLE — Carlisle has begun enforcing a new 15-minute parking limit at the Transfer Station, the most notable town action in the past day as the community also heads into a busy stretch of deadlines and meetings this week.

TOWN HALL

The Transfer Station's parking limit took effect this week under a regulation update posted by the town. Vehicles parked longer than 15 minutes assure adequate traffic flow through the site, and Transfer Station attendants may now ask drivers who overstay to move their cars to legal parking elsewhere off-site.

The Community Preservation Committee's FY27 fall grant cycle remains open, with applications due Friday, August 14, at noon ahead of a vote at the November 16 Special Town Meeting, a story the town's News Flash also covered this week. The Building Department also remains closed on Fridays through the summer, resuming its regular Friday hours in September.

COMING UP

Carlisle has several hybrid board meetings this week: the Safety Committee and Board of Health both meet Thursday, August 13, followed by the Police Station Building Renovation Committee on Friday, August 14. The Board of Assessors meets Tuesday, August 18.

Two deadlines also land this week: Community Preservation Committee FY27 grant applications are due Friday, August 14, at noon, and the town's Household Hazardous Waste Day runs Saturday, August 15, from 9 a.m. to noon.
