Carlisle Board of Health Declares Level 3 Drought Advisory

CARLISLE — Carlisle has been designated part of a Level 3 – Critical Drought region by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, the town's Board of Health announced, prompting heightened water-use concerns across the community.

The Carlisle Board of Health issued a Level 3 Drought Advisory after the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs designated the Northeast Region, which includes Carlisle, as being in Critical Drought status. Residents are directed to consult the town website for guidance on the advisory's implications for local water use.

Separately, the town continues to enforce Transfer Station permit rules put in place earlier this year. Same-day permit transactions with credit or debit cards are available at the Police Station, while all other transactions are handled by mail; cash is not accepted.

SCHOOLS

Carlisle Public Schools is operating under summer hours, with the main office open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. through the district's Summer School session, running July 6 through August 7. During that window, the School Street parking lot is closed to public parking on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the playground is reserved for student use only during those same hours, with no public restroom access for playground users. The Carlisle School Committee's next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, at 10 a.m.

The Joint School Committee Meeting of the Concord Public School Committee and Concord-Carlisle Regional School District Committee is scheduled remotely for Friday, July 10. The Carlisle Cultural Council will meet remotely on Monday, July 13, the same day the Planning Board holds a hybrid meeting that includes a public hearing on a proposal at 1090 North Road.
