CAMBRIDGE — Cambridge police announced Friday that this year's National Night Out will be held Tuesday, August 4, at Donnelly Field, inviting residents to meet officers and neighbors as the department also fields new questions over school labor talks and a Cambridge-based drugmaker's quarterly loss.

Cambridge Police posted details Thursday for National Night Out, the annual community-policing event, set for Tuesday, August 4, at Donnelly Field near Berkshire Street. The event caps a stretch of city announcements this month, including the close of the 10-day Red Line shuttle-bus period between Alewife and Park Street, which ran through July 30 while the MBTA worked on the line.
