Cambridge Launches Teen Night Live Program Through August 14
CAMBRIDGE — Cambridge teens have a new place to be on weeknights: the city's youth centers reopened for Teen Night Live, running skill-building workshops and field trips through Aug. 14, while the Cambridge Public Library rolled out a full slate of Saturday programming this weekend.
TOWN HALL The city's Department of Human Service Programs is running Teen Night Live at Cambridge youth centers on weekday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. through Aug. 14. The program, open to residents ages 14 to 19, mixes skill-based workshops with field trips and runs through the rest of the summer.
COMMUNITY & ARTS The city's free Tuesday-evening concert series at Danehy Park, featuring local musicians, continues through the summer after kicking off July 1. At the library, Saturday, July 25 brought a full slate of drop-in programming at the Central Square and Main branches, including an intermediate English grammar and conversation group, an Arabic story time for children up to age 7, an American Sign Language lesson focused on everyday communication, and a cyanotype sun-printmaking session at the Central Square branch. The Main branch's Hive makerspace also opened its laser-cutting workshop and open shop hours to badged members.
