GROTON — The Groton Cable Advisory Committee voted 3-0 to raise its hard-drive purchase cap to $1,200 after prices rose. Program Director Ashley Doucette told members Neil N. Colicchio, Janet Vartanian Sheffield and Eric Fischer that a 24-terabyte drive previously approved at up to $1,000 had climbed to $1,054. "I think the idea about capacity versus a few hundred dollars is pretty simple decision," Colicchio said before the unanimous roll-call vote.
Doucette also reported the town's nearly two-year Charter Spectrum license renegotiation remains "in our queue for review," and outlined a planned $3,700 purchase of 500 closed-captioning hours from GNG Technologies for fiscal year 2027, $2,000 of it covered by a Mass Access grant. The committee set its next meeting for August 26 at 4:30 p.m.
