Billerica 250th Committee approves vendor contract and hires band for July 2 event

BILLERICA — May 5, 2026 — Billerica's 250th Anniversary Committee approved a vendor contract framework and hired a band for its July 2 celebration at its May 5 meeting. The committee voted unanimously to adopt a vendor application requiring full setup by 3 p.m. and prohibiting booth teardown before 10 p.m., with single spaces priced at $250 and doubles at $500. Members also voted to pay Ask Alice $700 for a three-hour set. Nutmeg Concessions committed four food carts for $800, down from a $1,000 list price, and Wicked Wings signed on at $250, bringing confirmed food vendors to five of a target roughly 15. Treasurer Diana Saunders reported total revenue of $67,205.07 — including $25,000 from town meeting — against $11,391.46 in expenses, leaving a net balance of $55,813.61. Parking arrangements were secured at O'Connor Hardware and Saint Theresa's Church, and a shuttle plan from the high school lot and a 1-800-GOT-JUNK site on Sterling Road remained under negotiation pending a call to the Council on Aging about accessible bus availability.
