Bedford Library Summer Reading Challenge Runs Through July 31

A slow news day at town hall and in the schools leaves the Bedford Public Library's summer reading challenge as the most active item in the community this week.

The Bedford Public Library's 2026 HEB Reads! Summer Reading Challenge is running now through July 31, open to adults, teens, and kids. Residents can register through the Beanstack app or on the library's website, logging reading minutes to earn prizes; prize pick-up began June 1. The library will be closed Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
