Bedford Launches Design Study for Page Road Pump Station

BEDFORD — The town has launched a preliminary design study for improvements to the Page Road Pump Station and Force Main, while Hanscom Air Force Base flagged an upcoming military exercise that will run for nearly two weeks in August.

TOWN HALL

The town announced that engineering firms Weston and Sampson and Land Tech will conduct survey work as part of a preliminary design study for future improvements to the Page Road Pump Station and Force Main, according to a News Flash post from the town. The scope and timeline of the resulting improvements were not detailed in the announcement, but the survey work marks the first visible step in what appears to be a longer-term infrastructure planning process.

Separately, the town posted a notice regarding an ongoing Hanscom Air Force Base exercise scheduled to run from August 3 through August 14. The notice gave no further detail on the nature of the exercise or expected impacts on surrounding areas, but residents near the base should expect increased activity during that window.

The Select Board and Town Manager's Office are also inviting residents to the Town Common for the Bedford Summer Biergarten, an afternoon gathering featuring music, beer, and food, according to the town's website.
