Ashland Promotes New OpenGov Permitting Portal for Residents, Contractors

ASHLAND — Ashland Town Hall is directing residents and contractors to a newly launched online portal for permits and licenses, while the Ashland Public Library heads into the weekend with a run of summer programs and two town boards prepare to meet Monday.

TOWN HALL The town's featured News Flash this week points residents and contractors to Ashland's new OpenGov License/Permitting Portal, an online system for submitting and tracking permit and license applications without an in-person trip to Town Hall. The town is encouraging residents to create an account on the platform to handle licensing and permitting business going forward.

COMMUNITY & ARTS The Ashland Public Library hosts a virtual lecture, "The Hollywood Blockbuster — How Steven Spielberg & George Lucas Changed the Movies," on Friday, July 17. The library's Adult Summer Reading Challenge 2026 continues online in rolling multi-day installments through the weekend, running Friday into Saturday, Saturday into Sunday, and Sunday into Monday.

COMING UP The Ashland Public Library has an in-person Mindful Meditation session for adults on Friday, July 17, followed the same day by a "Flicknic" family screening of "GOAT." On Saturday, July 18, the library hosts an Elephant & Piggie Ice Cream Party for families and a VEX IQ Robotics session for kids in grades two through six.

On the municipal side, the Finance Committee meets Monday, July 20, by Zoom, and the Conservation Commission holds a hybrid meeting the same evening.
