Ashland Launches OpenGov Portal for Permits, Moves Recycling Pickup to July 11

Ashland has launched a new online licensing and permitting portal and rescheduled a holiday recycling collection, giving residents two practical updates to act on this week.

The town has replaced its previous licensing and permitting system with OpenGov, a new online portal that residents and businesses can use to apply for and track permits and licenses. The town is encouraging users to learn more about the new platform through the official town website.

Separately, the town announced that the July 4th recycling collection event, postponed due to the Independence Day holiday, has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 11.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Ashland Public Library's Adult Summer Reading Challenge 2026 is underway, with participation available online. The library has a full slate of programs this week for all ages.

COMING UP

The Board of Health holds a hybrid meeting on Tuesday, July 7. The Select Board convenes in executive session and the Town Forest Committee meets Wednesday, July 8. The Planning Board meets via Zoom on Thursday, July 9.

At the library on Tuesday, July 7: Clocktown Rockers for ages 2-5 with a caregiver; the Front Street Readers Book Club discussing "Young Mungo" by Douglas Stuart; and an In Person Gentle Yoga session. On Wednesday, July 8: a virtual job-search workshop, "How To Use AI Without Losing Your Voice"; Baby Time for ages 0-3 with a caregiver; and the Teen Advisory Board meeting in person.
