Ashland Launches New Online Permitting Portal
ASHLAND — The town has rolled out a new online licensing and permitting system through OpenGov, giving residents and businesses a digital option for applications the town previously handled in person, according to a News Flash posted on the town's website this week.
TOWN HALL Ashland's new License/Permitting Portal, built on the OpenGov platform, is now live, the town announced. The News Flash directs residents to the town website for details on how to use the system; no further specifics on which permit types are covered were included in the announcement.
COMMUNITY & ARTS Ashland Public Library's summer slate is in full swing. On Friday, July 17, the library hosts a virtual lecture, "The Hollywood Blockbuster — How Steven Spielberg & George Lucas Changed the Movies," alongside an in-person "Flicknic" screening of "GOAT" for families and a Mindful Meditation session for adults. The following day, Saturday, July 18, brings an Elephant & Piggie-themed ice cream party for families and a VEX IQ Robotics session for students in grades two through six. The library's Adult Summer Reading Challenge continues online through the week as well.
COMING UP Ashland Public Library events this week include the Mindful Meditation session, "Flicknic: GOAT" and the Spielberg-Lucas virtual lecture, all Friday, July 17; the Elephant & Piggie Ice Cream Party and VEX IQ Robotics for Kids, both Saturday, July 18; and the online Adult Summer Reading Challenge running in windows through Monday, July 20. On the municipal side, the Finance Committee and Conservation Commission both meet Monday, July 20 — the former by Zoom, the latter in hybrid format — followed by the Library Board of Trustees, which meets in hybrid format Tuesday, July 21.
