Ashland Escalates to Stage 2 Water Restrictions

ASHLAND — Ashland has moved to Stage 2 water restrictions, the town announced Friday, tightening outdoor water-use rules as dry conditions continue across the region. The order builds on the Stage 1 restriction already in place and represents the most consequential town announcement of the day.

The town's News Flash confirmed Stage 2 Water Restrictions are now in effect, a step up from the Stage 1 order Ashland had been operating under. Ashland Public Schools posted elementary supply lists this week as families finish preparations for the Aug. 31 opening day. The district's news page also continues to promote its "Back to School 2026-2027" materials ahead of the start of classes.

The Ashland Public Library closed out the week with a run of programs Friday: an in-person Mindful Meditation session for adults, a virtual talk on "The Legacy of Mickey Mantle: A Legend (and Victim) of American Culture," and a virtual Friday Night Film Discussion of "Saving Grace."

COMING UP

The library's Back To School Movie Night is set for Saturday, Aug. 29. On Monday, Aug. 31, the library hosts its in-person Monday Knit and Crochet Club and a virtual talk, "Women of War: Italian Assassins, Spies & Couriers Who Fought the Nazis," while the Keefe Tech School Committee holds its next meeting the same day.
