Ag Commission continues livestock regulation hearing to Thursday
Agricultural Commission · Meeting of February 23, 2026
Pepperell Agricultural Commission continues livestock rule hearing to Thursday amid blizzard disruption. Co-chairs Cheryl Rozoff and Lucy McCain, joined by members Eric Piper and Naomi Soden, voted unanimously to push the public hearing on the Board of Health's proposed livestock and manure management regulation to 7 p.m. Feb. 26 in Conference Room A, with remote access.
Rozoff said the commission's review authority under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 111, Section 31, gives it just 45 calendar days to comment, a deadline she pegged at March 5, calling it "a very compressed, fast process." The board is seeking an extension for a joint meeting with the Board of Health but noted that board "don't have to agree to our request." A new notice letter will go out to all town livestock owners ahead of Thursday's session.
