Town Hall confirmed the appointment of Douglas Sturniolo as chief of the Acton Police Department in an announcement posted this week, though the town did not detail a start date or the process that led to the selection.

Separately, the town posted an extreme-heat advisory pointing residents to cooling resources amid the current forecast, and released the July 2026 edition of the Municipal Monthly newsletter, available for download on the town website.
