Licensing Board · Meeting of June 18, 2026
Watertown's Licensing Board approved extended bar hours for six local establishments under a new state pilot program tied to World Cup soccer matches. The board, chaired by Sandra Kasabian-Hoffman, voted unanimously to let City Works Eatery and Poorhouse, Donahue Holdings, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Oakley Country Club, Shake Shack and Sons of Italy Lodge 1036 serve alcohol an extra hour through July 31 under House Bill 5482. Board member John Bartley called the atmosphere surrounding the matches an example of "goodwill" spreading through the region.
The board also approved Red Lentil Vegetarian and Vegan Restaurant's upgrade from a wine-and-malt license to an all-alcohol license, something owner Pankaj Pradhan said he sought for roughly a decade. Separately, the board continued a show cause hearing against Ixtapa Mexican Grill and Cantina to July 23.
