Townsend Curbside Recycling Renewal Deadline Arrives July 10
Summer is fully underway in Townsend, with Town Hall operating on its warm-weather schedule and a handful of upcoming deadlines and programs worth keeping on your radar.
TOWN HALL
Town Hall is closed on Fridays through the end of August, so residents should plan any in-person business for Monday through Thursday. The summer hours policy went into effect this month.
Homeowners who use curbside trash and recycling pickup have until July 10 to renew their registration for the 2026–2027 program. The town's News Flash from June 8 reminds residents that registration is currently open and that the renewal deadline is firm.
Looking slightly further ahead, the town's community electric aggregation program has a scheduled sweep coming up on July 13, 2026. Residents who have not opted out and wish to review their status should do so before that date.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Townsend Public Library will be closed Friday, July 4, Saturday, July 5, and Sunday, July 6, in observance of Independence Day. Patrons needing materials or holds over the holiday weekend should plan to stop in before the closure begins.
