Tewksbury Conservation Commission Ratifies Seven Emergency Certifications at June Meeting

TEWKSBURY — June 10, 2026 — Tewksbury Conservation Commission ratified seven emergency certifications and issued two negative wetland determinations at its June 10 meeting. The commission cleared emergency actions at five locations including two separate certifications for CSX Railroad property behind 540 Main Street, where beavers rebuilt a dam within three days of its removal, ultimately requiring the animals to be trapped and removed to stop flooding across from Roger Street. A third beaver-related certification addressed a blocked stormwater culvert off Serenity Lane. The remaining certifications covered a water main break at 14 Luston Street, a split pine at 21 Pumpkin Lane, two storm-damaged trees at 25 Robbie Terrace Way, and a water connection repair at 555 Whipple Road. The commission also issued negative determinations for a pair of precast stormwater dry wells on Quail Run and a prefab shed roughly 90 feet from Pinnacle Brook on Pinnacle Street, though a commissioner noted the commission had failed to read erosion-control conditions into the record before voting on the Quail Run project. Two public hearings — a major land disturbance by Marwick Associates LLC at zero Merrimack Drive and a notice of intent by Tyler Ryan at 73-75 Hillman Street — were continued to the June 24 meeting, with the commission operating without a permanent conservation agent.
